Welcome to Master JinBodhi’s Wellness Seminar – Q&A On Parenting

(What should we do if our child smokes, gambles, or uses drugs?)

Younger people want new and exciting experiences which most people dare not do. They think those things are exciting. They don’t think they are bad. They feel excited. Young people do bad things, such as using drugs, getting drunk, smoking and fighting, because they don’t know what the results will be.

After they grow up and come to understand right and wrong, these bad habits could have already harmed their health, their education and even their life. They may not be able to find a partner, start a family or find a job. They are young, lacking the wisdom to think about consequences. They tend to say, “Just do it.” “Let’s just do it first.”

Here is my hope: Young friends, after listening to my teaching, please discipline yourselves. If you want to do something, check online to see whether it’s good. If it is not good, don’t do it. Because once you start and get addicted, you will regret it for the rest of your life.

Drugs, including marijuana, heroin, meth, etc., are all harmful to your health. If you want to live a good life, get married, have children, build a good career, and enjoy a luxurious home and car, you need to study hard and master useful skills. Then you can contribute to society, make money and live a good life. The least exciting way promoted by your mom is the best way.

Let’s cultivate our minds, live healthily and continue learning.
