In Tibet, this pot is used to offer ghee or milk tea to living buddhas. The milk tea in the pot represents the essence of Dharma of the Buddha, which symbolizes purification of the body and mind once consumed, and elimination of karmic obstacles, making our lives cleansed, pure and righteous and thereby helping us attain enlightenment as soon as possible.

A pattern of a kneeling lamb is carved on the top of the pot, which implies “receiving Buddha’s Dharma essence with gratitude shown by kneeling.” It means that after bathing in the Buddha’s dharma wisdom, one should know how to repay the gratitude and always be grateful to the Buddha after achieving enlightenment.
