What are some of the Zen kōan that were passed down through the generations?
What were these great Zen masters trying to teach?
How can we light up our inner mind and gain more wisdom?

In the online broadcast of “Explore the realm of Buddha (Part 18)”, Grandmaster JinBodhi spoke about the state of emptiness and the deep state of “self”. Why is it that all the Zen masters in the kōans resort to extreme means to help their disciples overcome their obstacles and delusions?

Through humorous words, Grandmaster JinBodhi presented a different view of enlightenment and gave us a deep understanding of time and space. Attachment, differentiation and a strong sense of “me” in our minds will naturally cause afflictions to arise in us. How can we learn to detach, let go and reach a state of emptiness?

In the broadcast, Grandmaster gave us a tip: “The master can guide us through the door, but we have to light the lamps with our own effort!”
It is our hope that all of you will take the time to go drink tea and put out the fires of ignorance in our hearts. With a peaceful and tranquil heart, we will be able to see past the façade, gain wisdom and eventually attain the state of enlightenment.
