Having a compassionate heart turns soil into gold. He may not have reached a high state of mind, but he is generous.
Turn Soil Into Gold
We have a disciple whose company is in China. I talked about him in my book too. Previously, he owned a small booth. He is a farmer who sells crops. What he has learned from me is that giving is gaining. It means the more you give, the more you get.
Hence, he sells his vegetables at a cheaper price, and never engages in dishonesty. First, his prices are low. Second, he makes sure to pack sufficient quantity. He even adds in free vegetables such as herbs, onions or ginger after you buy from him. He gives these seasonings to you for free. Not long after he started, he was able to afford to open a store. He was able to sell more. Now, he has opened a lot of franchises, reaching up to 300 stores in total.
We are karmically bonded. He will take time to watch my videos online. He is running a business, hence he wants to treat everyone with compassion and have a compassionate heart. He thinks of how he could better manage his employees. People would usually say, “I will fire you if you don’t perform well!” But he uses a completely different method, and that is to cover the rental expenses for his migrant employees. This is the first part. Second, he provides accommodations twice a year for traveling back home. Third, for workers who return to their hometown twice, he will provide 1,000 RMB for them as a benefit. So they can buy gifts for their parents. These expenses are all paid by him.
Married workers who have worked here for over a year will be given at least 10,000 RMB as a gift. There are tons of benefits available. Hence, each of his workers works very hard. They treat customers well. They will offer to carry your purchase to your car. Eventually, everyone buys vegetables from him. Most importantly, his workers give their all for him and provide excellent service. This is hard to achieve. He may not have a high state of mind, but he is very generous. Second, he treats his workers as his own brothers and sisters.
After getting inspired by compassion, he treats his workers very well. Naturally, the workers are hardworking. This has led to him making a lot of money. It seems that he spends a lot on his workers. He spends 500,000 RMB on his workers, but he earns 5 million RMB in return. He did not expect this. So he wrote to me: “Wow, it turns out having a compassionate heart can turn soil into gold.”
