According to legend, during the Buddha’s time, the Venerable Maudgalyayana, who developed the most supernatural powers, tried to save his mother from suffering by evil spirits. On the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month, food and fruits were widely offered to consecrate the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. Only then can his mother be liberated from the sufferings of hell, and be reborn in the heavenly and pleasant realms; in gratitude to his mother’s kindness in giving birth to him.
Therefore, the seventh month of the lunar calendar is a particularly auspicious month. It is also known as the month for ‘repaying gratitude’, and the month of ‘Buddha’s Joyful Day’.
In response to your needs, I will personally lead everyone in praying for your departed loved ones, or for auspiciousness for your living relatives, parents, and friends. With the blessings and protection of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, I hope all departed beings can be liberated and reborn in the heavenly realm.
