When the canvas of life is decorated with colorful precious gems, for example, happiness, anger, sadness, joy — life becomes vibrant and colorful. When sparkling and crystal-clear precious gems are painted with a thin layer of paint, are they still beautiful?
Grandmaster JinBodhi use his painting to guide us in discovering the underlying meaning of life. These different colors symbolize the seven-treasure pond in the Western Pureland and represent the beauty, pain, sufferings and helplessness of life. Colorful patches resemble the sparkling beautiful gems in The Eastern Lapis Lazuli Land and our interesting, happy and beautiful life!
Grandmaster JinBodhi reminds us compassionately: Do not treat life’s goodness as a possession in a rapidly changing and transient life. Be grateful for the training provided by the five aggregates and learn to look beyond space and time to look at the future to see through life’s imperfections. Learn to love, contribute, forgive, tolerate and use our body, speech, thoughts and five aggregates wisely to magnify life’s goodness to emanate illumination and warmth. Love our relatives, love all sentient beings, love the Universe, become one with the Universe to let happiness fill you physically and mentally so as to make the world a better place. If we are able to think in this manner, we will be experiencing the beauty of Western Pure Land on Earth!
