As Master said, if you have liver issues, or serious stomach problems, experience it once and you will be fine. I believe, when you have cultivated the cool nectar, you gain 10 years of life.
Nectar Created Through Meditation
After learning meditation from me for a while, you will have some special reactions such as sweet saliva in your mouth, which we call nectar. Having this sweet saliva is not from eating candy or sweet food. It is not like that. It is a special and soothing sweetness in the mouth.
Such sweet saliva is what we call nectar, which isn’t easy to obtain in self-cultivation. It brings great benefits to our health, especially the digestive system. What organs are in the digestive system? The stomach, large and small intestines, liver, gall bladder, pancreas, and spleen. Many people have issues with them and some are fatal illnesses. Therefore, when we have cultivated this nectar with such sweetness, it is absolutely priceless. No matter how precious the lifesaving remedies you bought are, they are incomparable to the nectar. It is so valuable.
So during your self-cultivation, if such sweetness appears, congratulations! Even if it just happened once, you might have gained a year of life. You can count how often it happens.
(The nectar benefits our health.)
Its effect, as long as we keep self-cultivating, will last many years. It is forever. As you go deeper into self-cultivation and your meditative state, and when your mind is pure and concentrated on practicing, the sweetness of the nectar will be different. Like sugarcane, if the land is fertile and the species is good, its sugar level will be high. Thus, the more focused you are in practice, the taste of this nectar when it is the sweetest is a cooling kind of sweetness.
I can’t exactly describe what it is. It is not watery or solid. It feels like a soft bead inside your mouth, though we can’t see it. It is like the shining dew on the lotus leaf is inside your mouth. Grandmaster Ren said, “When this happens, don’t rush. Calmly sit down. Place one hand on top of the other like this at the lower abdomen. Let the nectar, the sweet saliva, gradually and slowly, like a thread, drop into the stomach.”
I was a teenager when I felt this cool sensation. It slowly dropped into my stomach, and I felt so comfortable and at ease. As Master said, if you have liver issues, or serious stomach problems, experience it once and you will be fine. I believe that when you have got the nectar, you can live 10 more years.
(The cooling nectar is even more extraordinary.)
Since some Tibetans are very devoted, they bow when they see their master, and then the master will do this and touch their head and back. That person was mentally ill. He didn’t sleep and struggled at night. He yelled, screamed, and even saw ghosts. He was insane when he came. His mom pushed his head for the master to touch. Since his illness was so serious, the master spat twice.
A week later, he came back by himself wearing a nice suit. Although his Tibetan face made him appear a bit dark, everything had returned to normal. He was very grateful and brought yak butter and gifts. I thought, “He was so weird last time and emotionally out of control. How come all of a sudden he is fine?” He tried all the treatments for a month, without success. So I thought, “Wow, Master’s phlegm is really something.”
I thought it was phlegm at that time. It is actually not. It is nectar. He had been self-cultivating all his life. He was a well-cultivated master. He had infinite compassion in his heart. So he could share the nectar in his mouth with others. He is not insulting you, he is helping you. He is saving you. (Blessing.) Yes, blessing you.
(Master’s nectar blessing.)
